Web design for UK trades
Own the job, and own the customers that come with it.
If you pay a lead platform every month, you are renting customers who were never really yours. On a new build we do the whole lot: logo, Google Business Profile, all the wording and the site itself, built around what people in your area actually search for. Then we hand you the keys. Domain, hosting and code, all in your name.
Fixed prices published on this site. You own the domain, the hosting and the code. Live in two to four weeks.
Renting customers, or owning them
A year on lead platforms
£3,600 to £6,000
Paid every year for as long as you stay. The leads are shared with three or four competitors, and when you leave, your reviews stay behind.
Against a site you own
£999 once
Domain, hosting and code in your name from day one. Every enquiry it brings is yours alone, and every review you collect stays yours.
A website will not replace lead platforms overnight and we will not pretend it does. The point is to stop renting your own customers. Run your own numbers through the calculator below.
What do you get for the money?
Every tier, no extras
The whole job, done to a tee
Logo, Google Business Profile, all the wording and the site itself, from the £999 New Site up. Starting from nothing? We research your business name and find the right web address too.
Local SEO done properly
Google Business Profile set up correctly on every build, and on the £1,995 Local build, area pages written individually. Rankings you can check yourself either way.
Found by AI search too
Your business is set out behind the scenes so ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI can read who you are, what you do and where you do it.
Fast on one bar of signal
Pages coded from scratch, no page builder and no plugin sprawl, so they open fast on one bar of signal. Your customers are on phones too.
You own the lot
Domain in your name, hosting in your account, code handed over. Sack us tomorrow and you keep everything.

Selected builds
Trade sites coded from scratch, live now. Some belong to trade businesses we run ourselves, one is a fire and security firm we work alongside. We are not an agency guessing at what a trade website needs. We build the sites our own electricians rely on to get work, and when one of them underperforms it comes out of our pocket, not a client’s. Every figure below was measured on the live pages, so go and check any of it.
Emergency electrical · Manchester and Cheshire East
An emergency site that answers the question before the phone rings
Their old template hid the phone number and pulled 75 files to show 763 words. We rebuilt it around one job: getting a worried person from a Google search to a ringing phone. Eight named faults with their own pages, honest response-time bands on a real map, and the number pinned to every screen.
Domestic and commercial electrical · Greater Manchester
The old site had no phone number you could tap. Not one.
A family firm that was invisible in local search: the page title was just the business name, and the description Google shows talked about a different company entirely. We wrote 20 location pages and 7 service pages that each earn their place, split domestic from commercial, and put the number where a thumb can reach it.
Fire and security · North West · Built from nothing
Built for the buyer who checks credentials before ringing
A commercial fire and security contractor stood up from zero. Eleven service pages, six sector pages, engineer profiles with qualifications on show, and a client portal holding each customer's certificates behind a login.

Fuse box specialist · Greater Manchester · Built from nothing
Fixed-price fuse box replacement
Ten area pages, each written properly, and a cost guide answering the question people actually search. The before and after photographs on the site are of the fuse boards themselves, old boards out and new boards in, because that is what sells the work.
Is what you pay for leads paying for itself?
Put in what you pay a month and how many leads it gets you. We work out what each won job is really costing you.
We do not guess a cost per lead, because there is no honest single figure for it in the UK. Every sum is shown next to its answer so you can check it, and nothing is hidden behind an email address.
Your numbers
Sets the starting job value below. It changes nothing else.
Everything the platform takes: membership, credits, lead fees. Whatever actually leaves your account.
Count enquiries you were charged for, not jobs.
EICR £210 to £250. Consumer unit replacement is disputed: Checkatrade puts it near £485, Logic4training's 2026 survey near £890, so we show both rather than averaging them. Full rewire £4,500 to £6,500.
15% is a starting point, not a researched figure. No reliable UK study measures this. Use your own number if you know it.
What is left after materials and labour, before overheads.
Are you VAT registered?
You are VAT registered, so the VAT on platform fees comes back to you. We work from £250 a month, your total less VAT, and treat job values as excluding VAT too.
The arithmetic, in the open
Cost per lead, ex VAT
monthly cost ÷ leads a month = £250 ÷ 12
£20.83
Cost per won job
cost per lead ÷ win rate = £20.83 ÷ 15%
£138.89
Gross profit per job
job value × gross margin = £240 × 40%
£96.00
Profit after platform cost
gross profit − cost per won job = £96.00 − £138.89
−£42.89
Jobs a month to break even
monthly cost ÷ gross profit per job = £250 ÷ £96.00
2.6 jobs
Annual spend
monthly cost × 12 = £300 × 12
£3,600
The verdict
This channel loses money on every job you win.
At a 15% win rate each won job carries £138.89 of platform cost against £96.00 of gross profit. You are £42.89 down before you pick a tool up.
Cost per won job if your win rate is
10%
£208.33
15%
£138.89
your figure
20%
£104.17
25%
£83.33
The win rate is the softest number here and it moves the answer more than anything else. That is why we show four of them instead of picking one.
Since it is working
Fine, it is working. One thing to think about anyway. Every review you earn on that platform stays on that platform. If your circumstances change, or their prices do, you start again from zero. Collecting reviews you own, on your own Google profile, costs £145 once and takes nothing away from what you are already doing. See the Review Engine.
Whatever the verdict says, the Lead Platform Exit Audit is free. One page on what you would lose, what you would keep and what to set up first, back within two working days. Request it here.
Want these numbers in writing? Email them to yourself. We ask for your email only if you want us to have it.
What the platforms actually charge
Every row is labelled by where it came from. Official means published by the platform, member-reported means trades saying what they were billed, estimate means a range we could not verify from source, derived means we did the multiplication ourselves. Checked August 2026, and the Bark credit price is as published in June 2026.

Who we work with
Built for trades and local service businesses
These are the trades we build sites for. The searches change from one to the next, but the job of the site does not: get found by someone local who needs the work doing, then make ringing you the easy option.
Don't see your trade?
The list is not a limit. If you quote jobs, answer a phone and pay a platform for leads, we build for you. That covers plenty of work nobody calls a trade. Tell us what you do and we will learn the searches your customers type before we write a word.

Every label above is a trade we build websites for. It is not a client list, and nothing here is work we are claiming to have delivered.
Questions trades actually ask
A refresh of an existing site is £595 flat. A new site built from nothing is £999, and a build designed to own your area in local search is £1,995. Smaller pieces start at £145. Every price is published on this site and does not move once quoted. You own the domain, the hosting and the code whichever you pick.
You own it outright. The domain is registered in your name, the hosting sits in your account and the code is handed over when the site goes live. Nothing is licensed, leased or held on our servers. If we disappeared tomorrow your site would carry on as if nothing had happened.
Nothing switches off, because there is nothing to switch off. The build is a one-off payment and the site is yours from the day it goes live. If you take a monthly plan and later cancel, we hand you the hosting account and the code and you owe us nothing further. You then renew the domain and hosting yourself, which costs a few pounds a month.
Expect three to six months before a new site brings steady enquiries from search, and be suspicious of anyone who promises faster. Google takes time to trust a new site, especially in a competitive trade. A properly set up Google Business Profile can bring calls sooner than the site itself. Most trades keep their lead platform running during that period and cut it back once their own phone rings enough.
Not necessarily, and we say that as a company selling the alternative. Put your real numbers through the calculator on this site. If your cost per won job is a small share of your profit on that job, the platform is working and you should keep it. The stronger reason to build your own presence is control, because your reviews and your ranking on a platform never belong to you. Our free Lead Platform Exit Audit sets out exactly what you would lose and what you would keep.
They stay on the platform, because they belong to its website and not to you. You cannot export them to Google or move them to your own site in any form search engines will trust. That is the strongest lock-in these platforms have. It is also why we suggest collecting reviews on your own Google Business Profile from now on, whatever else you decide.
Half up front books your build slot and pays for the research, writing and design that happen before you see anything. It also keeps the diary clear of time wasters, which is blunt but true. The other half is due only when the site goes live. If you see the first draft and decide it is not for you, tell us before the second round starts and we refund the deposit less £150 for the work already done. Your domain, your hosting and your content are never held back, whatever happens.
You see the first draft before the site is finished, and that is the decision point. Tell us it is not for you before we start the second round and we refund your deposit less £150 for the work already done. After that point the deposit is not refundable, because the site is largely built by then. Either way we will not hold your domain, your hosting or your content hostage.
Yes. We are based in South Manchester and the build work is done remotely, so we build for trades anywhere in the UK. It runs on two short calls and WhatsApp wherever you are. Distance changes nothing about the price or what you get.
We do, in house, from South Manchester. Nothing is outsourced and nothing is assembled from a template. Alongside the studio we own and run trade businesses of our own, so the sites we build for clients follow the same patterns as the sites our own electricians rely on to get work. Every page is coded from scratch and written for your business specifically.
No. The site works without it and nothing about the build assumes you will take it. There are three. Care at £45 a month keeps the site hosted, backed up, updated and monitored, and does no marketing at all. Growth at £295 adds the Google Business Profile, review collection and ongoing local search work. Growth+ at £695 plus ad spend adds paid ads. Care is rolling from day one, the growth tiers run three months first, and the site stays yours either way.
Then keep it, and consider a £595 refresh to make it faster and easier for Google to read. A refresh keeps your design and your content and rebuilds the technical layer underneath. It only becomes a £999 new site if one of six things is true, such as more than twelve pages, a platform we will not work on, or no access to your domain and hosting. We run the checks and tell you which it is before you pay anything.
